FROM ABUSE TO EMPOWERMENT

“Abuse IS a crime. But there is a difference between sexual abuse and sexual freedom. The difference is MUTUAL CONSENT.”

Selima Sfar

A victim of abuse may need tools to help overcome abuse in order to move towards empowerment.

I have been a victim of sexual abuse.

This experience has deeply impacted my life, professional tennis career and performance. For years I felt an under-achiever despite the fact that I was the first Arab woman to reach the top 100. The fact that I couldn’t say no to an abuser made me believe I was very weak, coward, affecting my self-worth and self-confidence.

This experience created a code in my unconscious mind relating performance to abuse and trauma. Every time I was about to achieve an even higher performance, an automatic trauma response created by this code made me self-sabotage and freeze, preventing me from expressing my highest potential.

When I learned how to work with my unconscious mind, I found a way to transform the abuse and trauma that were tragically stored there into extra-power and special psychological abilities.

Abuse and trauma are experiences too complex to be comprehended and processed, therefore, the vast majority of them remain unconscious. In the unconscious mind, these experiences are processes waiting to be completed. If completed, the outcome will be extra-power, special psychological abilities and exceptional results.

Examples of development:

“The essence of trauma is disconnection… so, the real question is: How did we get separated and how do we connect?”
